Големият извор на река Мисури


Изворът (източник) е място, където на повърхността на земята излиза вода. Изворите обикновено захранват воден басейн, най-често река. Изворите могат да се образуват по различни начини, например при карстов терен на повърхността могат да излизат грунтови води, навлезли по-рано под земята. В области с вулканична или сеизмична активност на повърхността могат да излизат и води от по-дълбоки пластове, които често са с повишена температура и съдържат различни разтворени соли (вижте минерален извор).
