Argumento |


Nado durante a Gran Depresión, Steve Rogers medrou como un rapaz miñaxoia nunha familia pobre. Motivado polas novas que chegaban de Europa sobre os nazis, decidiu enrolarse no exército; porén, debido á súa precaria saúde, foi rexeitado unha e outra vez. Escoitando as súas súplicas, o Xeneral Chester Phillips ofrécelle a oportunidade de participar nun experimento especial: a "Operación Renacemento". Tras administrarlle o soro súper-soldado e bombardealo con "vitarraios", o corpo de Steve tórnase perfecto. Armado cun escudo indestrutible, emprenderá a guerra contra o Mal como sentinela da liberdade e líder dos Vingadores.
