Кривите огледала


Западен парк, известен преди като „Христо Смирненски“, е вторият по площ парк в София, простиращ се на 2,16 кв. км.[1]


Разположен е между кварталите Западен парк, Люлин, Факултета, Красна поляна, Захарна фабрика и Гевгелийски. Попада в столичните райони „Илинден“ и „Красна поляна“[2]. През парка тече Суходолската река и минава ж.п. линията за Югозападна България и Гърция. На парка е кръстена и намиращата се под булевард „Царица Йоанна“ метростанция. Входът на Западния парк е откъм булевард „Сливница“.


Паркът е неосветен и с остаряла инфраструктура, като главните алеи са в тежко състояние. Благоустроена е частта в район „Илинден“, докато частта в район „Красна поляна“ е лесопаркова, без асфалтирани алеи. В края на парка се намира местността Смърдана.
