My friend gave me a sentence in Polish "odkąd pływam minie 8 lat przed koncem tej klasy" to translate into English. And so i did, it is what i came up with "It will have been 8 years by July since i started swimming". But lately i've reminded myself about that and got really unsure if it is truly correct. I found some artciles about that, but none of them was about that particular situation, when I want to highlight information about starting point in the past. Could you explain me if that's correct or not?

A better phrasing would be something like "It will be 8 years in July since I started swimming" but that removes the Future Perfect tense part so it doesn't really answer your question (and might not be a good translation).
